We are exporting corned beaf to the world but how about ourseleves?

My Father told me that he worked for the ethiopian company as production manager whom are exporting the corned beaf to the world. I was happy that he shared the story. I googled a bit and found this article and the nice picture. Discuss...


Meat and Meat Products

Livestock husbandry is mostly carried out under natural grazing, making the meat and meat products obtained from the animals very tasty and nutritionally high and healthy for human consumption. 

Currently, there are five international standard abattoirs and five meat processing a plants in the country which are capable of producing fresh and frozen as well as conned meat products such as corned beef, minced beef, stewed steak, corned mutton, goulash, foul edams etc. the cumulative capacity of these plants enable the country to annually supply about 48,910 tons of chilled and frozen meat and 16,000 tons of canned meat.




My discussion points are, should we export? Should we first taking care of our hunger problem before jumping to export? Ofcourse we should export to give higher value to our Birr but what is the price?

I am not the expert in this area but I want to know?
